note: as of fall 2024, I am not currently taking new clients. I will update here when that changes!

* I provide services primarily in San Francisco. I will see families who live in Daly City, Millbrae, San Bruno, Burlingame, and parts of Oakland for prenatal visits if you are planning to give birth in San Francisco. I am willing to attend births outside of San Francisco on a limited basis for an additional travel fee ($100—250 depending on distance traveled).
Before you book with me
Income-tiered pricing: It’s important to me to provide equitably priced services. If I could offer services free of charge to those who need it, I absolutely would! I have provided free services before but it is no longer possible for me to do so. I use the San Francisco Area Median Income (AMI) chart to calculate prices. I understand that income is not the perfect indicator of ability to pay, and that there can be extenuating circumstances affecting disposable income. I am happy to talk with you to find a fair price that works for all of us.
Under 80% AMI: $1,750
80-140% AMI: $2,000
Over 140% AMI: $2,475
Donations to support birthwork in marginalized communities: Included in the fee structure is a $15 donation to The Perinatal Project, a birthworker-led initiative supporting families in Gaza. In the past I have supported The Black Bay Area Birth Fund (other organizations I love include SisterWeb San Francisco Community Doula Network and The Birthland Wellness Fund). Each of these organizations is doing important work to address serious perinatal structural inequities affecting birthing people and babies locally and internationally.
What if I have Medi-Cal? I am very happy to be a Medi-Cal doula services provider! If you have fee-for-service Medi-Cal or are on a managed care plan, you can access doula services through Medi-Cal. There is more information about this on the California Department of Health Care Services website.
Covid precautions: I practice covid-safe precautions (indoor masking, avoiding large indoor gatherings), and will wear a mask during our in-person interactions. I am up-to-date on covid vaccinations and get regular boosters (last vaccinated July 2024), and I am also up-to-date on the Tdap/DPT (whooping cough) vaccine (July 2023). I do this to protect my clients, myself, and the general population.
What does being chronically ill mean? Can I depend on you to be there for my birth? If you book my time, I will be there. I take my commitment to you very seriously. I do live with several chronic illnesses that I have become adept at managing, which means I know my limits and I plan accordingly. I take a limited number of clients so I can give my best to each client. I may call another doula to a birth to assist me if it is an especially long birth, so that I can ensure I get the proper rest to continue to support you. I welcome any questions about this if you are curious!
